For Canoes and Kayaks

The Bold Ivy Universal Bridge is designed to span the width of your canoe or kayak to safely attach the Bold Ivy Floats. If you’ve lost the bridge or have a second canoe, buy an extra bridge and make it easy to move the stabilizer from one canoe to the other.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do the sizes mean and which size is right for me?

The sizes (30″, 36″, 40″ and 45″) represent the width of the bridge. Every canoe stabilizer set needs a bridge to operate, as the extension arms slide in and out of the bridge, and the floats slide up and down on the arms. To help you determine what size you need, please check out our handy guide by clicking here.

  • How much does everything weigh?

Because the bridge comes in 4 different sizes, it also had 4 different weights. The 30″ weighs 2.07lbs. The 36″ bridge weighs 2.48lbs. The 40″ bridge weighs 2.76lbs. And the 45″ weighs 3.10lbs.

  • What materials are used?

The bridge is made of anodized aluminum.

  • What's included in each shipment?

Each shipment contains one Universal Bridge.

  • Can I find your products in retail stores?

Currently, we are online only. We are actively growing our dealer network and as we continue to expand into new retail locations, we will add a handy link to our website which shows where you may find our products.

  • Do you ship internationally?

Yes! We can ship anywhere that mail is delivered.

Choosing the Right Bridge Size

Measure the widest point of your canoe – this is most likely the center of your canoe. Measuring the widest point on your canoe allows you to place the bridge anywhere you’d like.
Determine the location of the lips of your gunwale. Most canoe gunwales have inside lips for clamping, meaning your clamps will be on the inside of the canoe. However, some canoe gunwales have outside lips, and in this case your clamps will clamp to the outside of your canoe.
